CHILD CARE: Nurturing the Potential of Every Child

At the Y, we recognize that successful youth development requires a holistic approach focused on achieving social-emotional, cognitive and physical milestones. Youth need positive adult and peer role models, and they need to feel physically and emotionally safe to thrive. The Y puts caring people in children’s lives and nurtures them along their journey to adulthood, so they can become active, thriving and contributing members of society.

Child Restraint Training:

Restraining a child is always an action of last resort, but there are times when it must be done for the safety of the child, others in the area and staff. In this training you will learn the safest way to prevent a child from injuring themselves or others.

Remember, objects can be replaced, the health and wellbeing of the children in our care is paramount - always.

During this training we define a child as someone under the age of 18, and in our direct care.
