Snohomish County YMCA Drivers Training

Our drivers can be found picking up and dropping off kids at their school, taking them on field trips and making sure all of our young members get to where they need to be safely and on time.

What does it take to become a driver?

Everything you need to know can be found in the driver's handbook. Please read thoroughly, ensuring you meet our requirements, and you still have an interest. Then connect with your supervisor and the branch Vehicle Point Person to discuss your next steps.

BLS and first aid certification is required:

All drivers need to have current BLS and first aid certification. You can obtain or re-new your certification by registering for the in-person skills class in CORE. Then you will be sent the links to the online learning that must be completed BEFORE you attend the in-person class.

Great Academy online learnings:

To complete these classes, you will need to create an account with Great Academy. These trainings have to be done every year so make sure to keep a copy of your log-in and password. If you already have an account, you are all set to log in now!

In addition to the required ‘Keeping Your Y Safe’ and ‘Preventing Sexual Harassment - Employee Edition’, you will need:

  • Distracted Driving I
  • Distracted Driving II - more than just a cell phone
  • Intersection Collisions
  • Rules of the Road
