VPN

To access the Community Platform from any Wi-Fi network that is not the Y’s, you will need to use our VPN. On this page we will go over each step to ensure your VPN is set up Correctly.

Step 1: FortiClient

To download FortiClient, we will need to go to this page https://www.fortinet.com/support/product-downloads#vpn

Please reach out to our IT team (JJ Mendoza and Derek Rabel) to install FortiClient, admin credentials are needed for this installation. This can be done either in person, or remotely.

Once FortiClient is downloaded, our IT team will help you configure the VPN. Once FortiClient is configured, we will need to install Duo Mobile on your phone. Step 2 will cover the set up and installation process for Duo Mobile.

Step 2: Duo Mobile

You will receive an email from Duo Security<no-reply@duosecurity.com>.

Select ‘Get Started’.

Select ‘Duo Mobile’.

Type in your phone number and select ‘Continue’.

Make sure your phone number is correct.

Download Duo Mobile on your phone.

Once you have Duo Mobile downloaded: ‘set up account’ → ‘use a QR code’ → scan the QR code that was on the browser → select ‘Save’

Once your Duo Mobile App looks like this, you are all set. Make sure you have push notifications turned on for Duo Mobile.

Step 3: Connecting to the VPN

Open FortiClient on your computer, and have Duo open on your phone.

Sign into FortiClient - Enter your username & password, then select ‘Connect’.

Once you select ‘Connect’ you will receive a notification in the Duo app. Select ‘Accept’.

This how FortiClient will appear once your connection is successful.

Please make sure to disconnect from the VPN if you are not using the Community Platform, or any other software that requires a VPN connection.
