Volunteers are the backbone of our sports programs, and we will support you in every way that we can.

Below is a link to some online learnings created by Y-USA with ‘tools and tricks’ for coaching our individual sports programs as well as information on safety, concussions and even parents’ role in the youth sports programs.

They describe the Y's philosophy on youth sports; offer basic coaching techniques, including practice plans, skills, drills, rules, and tactics; and outline valuable volunteer resources.

Child Abuse Prevention training.

The safety of the children in our care is paramount and therefore all staff and volunteers are required to attend annual Child Abuse prevention trainings (CAP). Usually, we would have a link for you that goes directly to Volunteer CAP training, however the page is currently being updated, so at this time we are requiring that all volunteers complete the same training we require of our staff.

To find the CAP training:

Click on Course Catalog:

  • Type in the name of the course: ‘Keeping your Y safe’.
  • Find the course and click on the blue bar labeled ‘Get this course’.
  • To begin the course, click on the blue bar labeled ‘You have this course’.
  • Or you can find courses at the top of the screen simply by clicking the down arrow next to ‘Learner’.
